NOT JUST A FLASH IN THE PAN

Right, so this is going to blow our younger fans away, but not all cameras used to come with a flash. And once the flash function became available, it was often an add-on. (Flashcubes are still one of our favorite things.)

Such was the flash function on some Polaroid cameras. The Impossible Project, launched in 2008, bought the world’s last Polaroid production plant and began the work of producing new film products for the thousands of Polaroid cameras out there in the world. And the separate flash is one of the add-ons they make.

The Impossible Flash Bar 2 is a re-usable electronic flash bar for all Polaroid folding (including Sonar models) and box-type SX-70 cameras. Optimized for use with Impossible Film, it also features a special ND-compensation mode so you can use your SX-70 with 600-type film too. The package comes with two extra color filters: hot pink and chartreuse.
